Perhaps you are getting ready to move out of your current home. You’ve been packing up boxes and discovering that there is a lot more that you thought. Or maybe you are just moving things so that carpet cleaners or painters can come in to do their work. Regardless of why, you’ve discovered that you need to de-junk your home. For most people, this is a scary idea. To the naked eye, it’s hard to know what is worth keeping and what needs to go. One option is to have a trusted friend work with you on this project. I helped a friend de-junk one time and it seemed to help her a lot. Another option is having a system in place that takes the guesswork out of the process. For this process all you need is some boxes, a marker, and some tape.

Before you start sorting through anything, set up the boxes and label them as follows: junk, sort, donate, and emotional withdrawal. If you are a serious packrat, this may be all the further you get that first day. But when you are finally sick of seeing those boxes sitting around, you are ready to de-junk for good.

This is where the sorting begins. Do not be tempted to put everything in a bunch of “sort” boxes and call it good. This will get you nowhere fast! Start with the donate box. A good rule to work with is this: if you haven’t used it in a year, donate it. That gives you four seasons to use it. No excuses about saving it for the winter. If you haven’t used it for four seasons, someone else can use it. Find your favorite charity. Make an announcement at church. Check with family and friends.

Next is the true “junk” pile. It’s outdated, expired, or broken, put it in the junk box and don’t look back. This is a good place for puzzles that are missing pieces, socks without partners, keys to automobiles you don’t own anymore, and the like. These are things you can’t even donate! So why should they be cluttering up your home?

The “sort” box takes all the things that you want to keep but they need to be moved in order to be useful. Nails in the bathroom? No! Earrings located with the pencils? That’s not very useful.

Finally, the “emotional withdrawal” box is for those things you just aren’t ready to part with. The idea is to put things in this box until you are ready to give them up.

Lastly, if you’re looking for new camera to take pictures of your clean home, you can find information about some of the best compact cameras online at sites such as http://www.BestCompactCamera.net to help guide your decision.

Purge:

• Start in one corner of the garage and work your way around. Pick up each item and decide if it is worth keeping. In order to accomplish this, ask yourself appropriate questions (Is it still usable? How often do I use it? Do I have more than one of this same item?).

• As you make decisions, put the item in the corresponding pile/bag/box – Keep, Donate, Trash, Hazardous Materials. **Don’t forget to record your donations for tax purposes.**

• Take out the trash, and put the donations in your car. This hinders the possibility of undoing your hard garage organizing work.

• Dispose of the hazardous materials properly. Each county has hazardous waste drop off sites. Go to Google and type your county and state into the search box to find your county’s website for drop off locations and guidelines.

Sort:

• You have pared down, and now you can focus on what’s left. Sort the remaining items by category (i.e. gardening, sports equipment, tools and so on).

**Due to the volume of clutter usually occupying garages, you might want to cut down on organizing time by combining the Purge and Sort steps into one seamless process. Thus when you decide to keep an item, take it one step further and group it with other like items.**

Store:

• Now you can see what and how much you have. Purchase necessary organizing products and store things accordingly. For instance, utilize a wall rack to store shovels, rakes and other items with long handles.

Maintain:

• Get into the habit of putting things in their proper places when you’re done using them. Get the whole family involved by passing this notion on to them as well.

• Clean out the garage thoroughly a few times a year (beginning of Spring and end of Fall) to get rid of unnecessary things and to relocate rogue items to their proper containers, bins, shelves, and so on.

Nealey Levi – Organizing leads to happiness!

Choosing the right pressure washers can help almost any business with cleaning tasks. Whether it is a small operation that caters to local businesses or a large company that cleans industrial areas, pressure washing units are powerful machines capable of getting the toughest cleaning tasks finished. These machines have a number of benefits that allow operators to quickly and effectively clean commercial and industrial areas. They are also available with a number of different specifications and features to suit different cleaning needs.

Clean and Green

Pressure washers offer superior cleaning power capable of cleaning many hard surfaces, using pressurized water to forcefully lift and remove stains and deposits from a variety of different surfaces. Even solidified and sticky masses of mixed debris or grease can be removed with relative ease using the right commercial pressure washers. Machines with pressure levels on the lower end, up to 1500 psi, are ideal for such applications as car detailing, where higher pressure levels may damage the vehicle. Machines with high pressure levels, on the other hand, can be used for more challenging industrial applications and more durable surfaces such as concrete and brick.

Another benefit of using pressure washers is that they are an eco-friendly cleaning option. Many cleaning methods rely on the use of harsh chemicals to get the job done. The effects of these chemicals can be harmful for the environment, the user, and the surface being cleaned. On the other hand, a number of commercial pressure washers rely simply on the power of the pressurized water to accomplish cleaning tasks. In situations where the debris may be difficult to remove, the pressure washing unit can be used with green chemicals. This powerful combination is an eco-friendly approach to many of the most difficult commercial and industrial applications, including degreasing, graffiti removal, car washing, and more.

Choose Your Cleaning Machine

Pressure washers from reputable suppliers come in a number of different models for various cleaning applications. For instance, cleaning an indoor area may require the use of an electric pressure washer that is relatively quiet and produces no exhaust fumes. On the other hand, outdoor cleaning jobs that are away from a ready power supply may require the use of a mobile gasoline, diesel, or propane powered pressure washing unit.

Units with varying water flow and pressure levels are also available. For example, an electric power washer with high water flow rates is generally preferred for thoroughly washing and flushing away debris. But an electric power washer with lower water flow rates is ideal in situations where water drainage may be a problem or where the high water flow may damage the surface to be cleaned.

A conventional cleaning job may simply require the use of a cold water electric pressure washer. In other cases, the debris may need to be softened to ensure easier cleaning, as is the case in industrial degreasing. For these cleaning jobs, hot water pressure washing units are an effective option. For the absolute toughest industrial cleaning tasks, steam pressure washing units are the best option. These units use a combination of high pressure levels and the cleaning power of steam. These are ideal for tackling jobs that involve the removal of heavy grease and industrial debris. For those who require the use of all three outputs, tri-mode machines are available.

With more people looking for a powerful machine for difficult cleaning applications, a cleaning business would do well to use pressure washers as part of their cleaning arsenal.

Author is associated with Daimer industries a leading supplier of Pressure washers, commercial pressure washer & hot water pressure washer.

Many people like the natural wood floors in their homes. Wood floors give you sense of warmth and earthiness in the room. floors are usually made from bare and unvarnished wood. But you can use a finish on your floor as well. There are different finishing options available for wood floors. Wax finish, varnish, lacquer or polyurethane is some of the common floor finishes. Wood floor need special care so that they last for long while keeping the original shape intact. Cleaning is not easy for wood floor. You have to follow some guidelines to keep your floor free from debris and dirt. The best way to clean your wood floor is the natural or green way. This will not only protect your floor but also protect the environment from harmful toxic chemicals and also keep your kids safe from the effects of toxic cleaning products.

Required Items

- Cider vinegar or white vinegar
- Water
- Broom or vacuum cleaner
- Soft, absorbent cloths or mops
- Natural soap (olive oil soap)

Directions

1. Regular cleaning and vacuuming is necessary to keep your Floor clean. Place a door mat outside and ask people to come in after cleaning their shoes on a door mat. If possible ask them to come in bare footed and removing shoes at the door.

2. Any kind of liquid or water is not good for floor. So, take care not to spill any liquid or water on the floor to avoid damage to it. If you get any spills of liquid wipe it immediately with soft absorbent cloth or paper towel.

3. A mixture of natural soap (olive oil soap) and water is the best option to clean and wash the unfinished floor. Always use the soft cloth to wash or clean the wood floors. Avoid any sort of puddles on the floor surface. Cider vinegar and water solution is another good way to wash the unfinished wood floors.

4. In case you have a finish on your floor, inspect which type of finish has you. It can be wax finish or a varnished, lacquered or polyurethane finished floor. If a small drop of water results in a whitish spot on the floor that means you have a wax finish. Otherwise you can have any of the other floor finish.

5. Floor with wax finish can simply clean with clean water and soft cloth. You can also apply wax on the damaged tattered area.

6. For floors have finishes other than wax, you can use 1/4 cup of white vinegar mixed in a quart of water with soft cloth. Soak the cloth with the solution and squeeze it as much as you can. Use it on the floor to clean the surface. This solution can also be used on unfinished wood floors. But you need to dry it as soon as you finished cleaning.

Cautions

- To avoid any scratches and damage to floor, do not drag furniture or other heavy items on the floor. You can use any cloths or towels wrap against each leg or corner to shift it from one area to another.

You might also want to know about How to Make and Use a Rubber for French polish and also How to Lay Flooring.

If you have ever used a mop in your life, you probably already know how cumbersome it can be. Its hard to get water out of traditional mops, let alone clean their heads. Most of them retain water and stink from miles. Worst of all, they don’t even get the job done, leaving dirt trails and spots.

This is why microfiber mops are probably the best thing to have been invented since slice bread when it comes to cleaning. Microfiber is a wonderful, highly advanced fiber that is made up of microscopic threads. These threads are usually several times thinner than a human hair, lending the fiber tremendous capacity to absorb liquids. Moreover, dirt and dust tends to get trapped inside the criss-cross pattern made by the threads, making them wonderful tools for cleaning the house.

Unlike traditional mops that require a bucket full of water (which can get terribly dirty within minutes), a microfiber mop can clean your whole house with just one wash. All you need is to get it wet once, and then let the mop do the hard work. You don’t need to stop periodically and squeeze the dirty water out of the mop either – its capacity to absorb is so tremendous that can clean your whole house without you having to squeeze it even once.

Best of all, microfiber is extremely easy to use. You don’t eve need detergent or soap to clean it – just rinse it with clean water and your mop will be as good as new. This way, you can not only save a lot of time, but also cut down on your yearly expenditure on cleaning supplies.

Most manufacturers sell a variety of shapes designed for different purposes. Rectangular shapes are great if you want to clean the dirt from corners, while rounded shapes are better for cleaning underneath sofas, beds, etc. A few manufacturers also sell microfiber mops with advanced swivel mechanisms that cut down on the effort further by removing the need to bend or kneel while mopping the floor.

To Conclude

When it’s bitter cold outside, the last thing you want to have to worry about is a frozen pipe. This can create household damage, inconvenience and the breaking of the budget. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of remedy, so read on to find out how to prevent this from happening in the first place and what steps to take if it does.

Frozen Pipe Prevention Tips:

- Keep the house at a comfortable temperature. Even if you are gone during the day or on an out-of-town trip, during the frigid months, it is important to keep the heater on so that the house remains at 60 degrees.
- Listen to the weather report so that you’ll be ready when those icy days arrive.
- While on vacation, you’ll want to make certain that all windows and doors are left tightly sealed in order to keep the drafts out. Open cupboards so that the warm air can reach the pipes.
- Insulating is a good idea. Wrap thermal insulation around them in order to blanket and protect them from freezing weather.
- Heat tape will provide another layer of protection, especially in extremely cold temps or in the case of plumbing that is exposed.
- Disconnect outdoor hoses and turn the water off to outdoor faucets and sprinkler systems. Make certain that they are emptied of water before winter sets in.

If your prevention tips didn’t stop the problem from happening, here’s what to do next:

- Open the frozen faucet in order to let the water come out in a safe and natural way as thawing begins.
- Thaw the ice carefully and slowly. A blow dryer or space heater may do the trick.
- Never use a blow torch as this may melt the metal, causing even more troubles for the plumbing system. Flames can start a house fire which is far worse than a plumbing problem.
- If you notice a leak, breakage has already occurred. Turn off the water before a flood ensues.
- Get towels ready to mop up, just in case. A mop and bucket would be good ideas, as well.
- Get a consultation from a licensed plumber. The water distribution system may need to be re-routed or outdoor components may need to be relocated inside, underground or in the home’s crawl space.

When this household problem occurs, it’s important to act calmly and quickly in order to keep the damage at a minimum. Make a plan for the next drop in temperatures and remember that spring will soon arrive.

If you have a frozen pipe in Providence it is best to get help immediately before further damage ensues. To know more about how to get help, go to http://www.purocleanri.com/.

If you are ready to hire cleaning services to help you keep up the look of your business, you have many options. Nearly every city has plenty to choose from, which might make you feel a bit overwhelmed when trying to decide. Find out the best ways to choose the finest professional to clean your business.

One of the first places you might be tempted to check is the phone book. This is the traditional way to get some options, since you will likely see several pages of advertisements and addresses of cleaning services near you. Some might even have their specialties listed in the ad, which can help you select a company. Once you have a few companies in mind, it is time to consider which ones to contact.

You can also use the Internet as a great resource to help you find a good service. Many people, both homeowners and business owners, like to post their reviews of cleaning services online. Most are quite detailed, though even a simple rating may help you choose between your top choices.

Call the businesses with the top ratings, and inquire about their offerings that are available to make sure they offer what you need. For example, you might need daily cleaning services, and some companies might only offer them weekly. Others might specialize in sweeping and mopping floors, but maybe you also need your windows cleaned, which not all companies offer. Find out their offerings and their specialties before committing to one company.

Of course, you should also keep price in mind. Everyone has a budget in mind, which you need to stick to in order to keep your business running. First find out if there are any special deals, or look for coupons available for the company. Then find out the prices of individual cleaning services compared to getting a package, and also compare one-time visits to the regular kind since you might get a discount when you use them consistently.

Comparing the top few businesses in your area is the best way to find the perfect professional for you. It is crucial that you keep your business as clean as possible, not only for your employees’ sake but also to impress your customers. It is fine to spend a little extra money to complete this goal, but make sure first that you are getting the best quality for your money.

Denver cleaning services can make maintaining your house a snap.

The effects of water damage in our home are not a simple problem. Accidents like fire are considered to be the worst thing to happen in a home but next to it is the water damage wherein according to some it is as destructive as the fire especially if the flood that you encounter has affected the entire house. It can also ruin homes and of course furniture as well as appliances. However, flood is not the only problem to think of when it comes to water damage because there are more serious problems to face and one of these is the mold that grows in your home.

Molds are often being neglected by most households not knowing that it could become worse and may result in a more severe outcome. If you are starting to see molds in your bathroom or in any area within your home, it would be wise to immediately remove it. Cleaning it will not actually waste a lot of your time so make sure to always devote some time to removing it.

Usually, molds occur in places that are not well ventilated and are always wet. It is sometimes identified by its color such as green, brown and black. The worst thing about molds is that they can leave stains in your house if you don’t clean it quickly, which will make it unattractive. Another worse effect of mold is that it can affect your family’s health. Skin irritation and breathing problems are just a few of the problems that you’ll encounter. It can also cause accidents especially if it has grown in your garden or backyard where there are kids running around. However, you don’t have to suffer long; if you act immediately there’s a huge chance that you can still remove it.

What you can do is to clean it using mold removal products but make sure that you are using a product that is earth-friendly. If you want you can create your own solution using natural ingredients such as vinegar and baking powder. You can do the cleaning process as often as possible so that there’s no chance for the mold to grow dangerously. Bathrooms, shower, laundry room and even basements are the places that you must check regularly because they are considered to be always wet. However, in case the mold is already hard to remove and it has grown all over the place it is advisable to consult the guidance of a water damage company. This will probably result if you will just allow the molds to continue to grow.

The effect of molds is not only in our home but it will also affect our health. It can result in your kids having allergies or asthma, so it is important to always clean your surroundings and make sure to keep the whole part of your home always dry.

Anything can stain a mattress. Instead of leaving the stains there, you should clean it immediately. Different micro organisms such as molds, bacteria, germs and allergens can easily take up residence in your stained mattress. Unless you are prepared to spend more than a thousand bucks on a new mattress, you should keep your current one clean all the time.

Let me tell you some tips on how to easily clean your mattress:

1. Water can actually help remove some mattress stains easily. But the temperature of the water is crucial. For instance, if your mattress has fresh blood stains, using hot water can set the stains faster. For fresh blood stains, remove it using cold water. But if you are getting rid of dried blood stains, use hot water. This is the same case in oil and grease stains. Oil and grease hardens up in cold water. If you want to dissolve them easily, use hot water.

2. Acid-based cleaning solutions like lemon juice and white vinegar works. These cleaning solutions also disinfect the mattress. If you have food, sweat and liquid stains, mix one cup of lemon juice or white vinegar with one cup of water. Put the solution in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the stained areas of your mattress. If you want to disinfect your whole mattress, spray the solution on all sides of the mattress. Allow it to dry completely. When the stains are already completely removed, dry the mattress completely using hair dryer. You can also leave it in a sunny and airy place to dry up.

3. Household cleaning solutions also work. Hydrogen peroxide is used to clean wounds. But you can also use this to remove blood. Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with one part water and apply it on the area affected. Sprinkle salt on it. This will help absorb the blood. Another trick you can try is dishwashing liquid. This cleaning product gets rid of oil-based stains.

4. Ink stains can be removed by milk. Soak absorbent paper towel in milk and put it on the ink-stained parts of the mattress. The ink will loosen up easily. Wipe it out with fresh towel and clean the mattress completely using the vinegar or lemon juice trick.

These are easier ways to get rid of mattress stains. Should you have stain problems, you now have a better idea of what to do with those stains.

One of the best mattress brands today is Serta Beds.
